The Minipex apex locator benefits from the same technology as other locators from the manufacturer Woodpecker.
Small in size, it can be easily placed on the work surface and is stabilized by a ring on its back.
A so-called "multifrequency" device, it works in all clinical conditions except the presence of suppuration in the canal or uncontrollable intracanal hemorrhage.
Our advice and precautions for use:
They are actually the same regardless of the apex locator!
If you want the measurements to be reliable, here are some "simple" tips to follow
Check that your pulp chamber is emptied of any liquid content. The canals can remain moist, but the presence of blood, irrigating solution, etc. in the chamber can create an electrolytic bridge between the canals and distort the measurement.
Check that the device's charging power is at maximum (always)
Use a hand file with a diameter that roughly matches the canal diameter. For a reliable measurement, the instrument must come into contact with the canal walls.
Repeat the positioning of the file 3 times before defining the working length of the upcoming treatment.

Description
The screen measures 2.4 inches (6 cm diagonal). The LCD screen is very bright and lights up in different colors depending on the positioning of the tip of the file in the canal.
The injected resin surface coating significantly limits the risk of scratches that could compromise the quality of reading. It can thus be decontaminated with all disinfection products/wipes.
A sound function can be added (or turned off) depending on the choice of use.
The complete box set includes:
