Product information
By Stéphane Simon
As with Medcem Portland Cement, MEDCEM MTA is the material indicated for pulp capping, pulpotomies, apexification treatments, treatment of perforations or even obturation in retro surgery.
Its radiopacity is more marked than that of MEDCEM Portland Cement. Its colorimetric stability allows the use of MDCEM MTA even on teeth concerned by aesthetics.

Technical description of the product
Description
MEDCEM MTA: The radiopaque, non-discoloring 2nd generation MTA
MEDCEM MTA belongs to the second-generation MTA (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate) family. It is based on a Portland cement enriched with a radiopacifying agent, which clinically distinguishes it from pure MedCEM Portland Cement and gives it superior technical characteristics for demanding cases.
Optimized Radiopacity thanks to Zirconium Oxide
The radiopacity of MEDCEM MTA is ensured by the addition of Zirconium oxide, a component compliant with ISO 9917-1. This technical choice allows for precise and reliable identification of the material on X-rays, facilitating placement control during clinical application. The radiopacity obtained is significantly more pronounced than that of pure MedCEM Portland Cement, making it particularly suitable for situations where radiographic interpretation is crucial.
Zero Discoloration: Total Color Stability
One of the major advantages of MEDCEM MTA is the complete absence of bismuth oxide in its formulation. This component, present in many conventional MTAs, is responsible for the dental discoloration phenomena observed after treatment. By eliminating it, MEDCEM guarantees perfect color stability, making this material suitable for use on anterior teeth and aesthetic areas with complete peace of mind.
Clinical Indications
MEDCEM MTA is indicated for all procedures requiring highly reliable bioceramics: direct and indirect pulp capping, pulpotomy, apexification and apexogenesis, repair of root perforations, and retrograde filling in apical surgery. Its biocompatibility and ability to induce the formation of mineralized tissue make it a benchmark solution for complex endodontic treatments.
Usage Protocol
The powder is mixed with sterile water on a glass slab until a homogeneous consistency is obtained. Handling is simple, reproducible, and does not require specific equipment.
Available Packaging
MEDCEM MTA is available in two formats:
- Bottle of 10 capsules of 0.35 g (2 to 3 treatments per capsule)
- 7 g bulk bottle for approximately 60 treatments.
