Product information
By Stéphane Simon
Tissue economy is becoming almost an obsession in endodontics.
Reducing the taper of shaping instruments is sometimes limiting on teeth that have a slightly wide shape. The majority of shaping instruments with a wide diameter are wide in their coronal part and are therefore not in line with the principles of saving hard tissue.
The Apical Shaper with its 3% taper is very interesting for achieving apical shaping without having to widen the coronal and middle thirds.
It can be used in addition to any existing system. We particularly recommend it in combination with the Slimshaper or the Excalibur.
Technical description of the product
Description
Apical finishing without tissue compromise
In modern endodontics, dentin tissue conservation is a fundamental principle. Most shaping instruments with a large tip diameter have a high taper, which leads to excessive enlargement of the already shaped coronal and middle thirds. The Apical Shaper specifically addresses this problem.
A 2% taper designed for the apical third With only 3% taper, the Apical Shaper disengages in the already prepared coronal part of the canal, only shaping the last 2 to 3 apical millimeters. The result: precise foramen finishing without sacrificing pericervical dentin.
When to use it? The Apical Shaper is recommended when foramen gauging reveals a larger diameter than that of the last shaping instrument used. It integrates perfectly as a complement to the SlimShaper or Excalibur ZARC, but can be combined with any existing system.
NiTi Blue: flexibility and resistance The Nickel-Titanium Blue alloy, obtained by controlled heat treatment, gives the instrument exceptional flexibility in curved canals. Its parallelogram cross-section optimizes cutting efficiency and cyclic fatigue resistance.
