Description
EDMax Glide path Neolix files - NiTi Canal Catheterization Instruments
The EDMax Glide path files, designed and manufactured in France by Neolix, are essential mechanized catheterization instruments for modern endodontics. With a tip diameter of 15/100 and a constant taper of 3%, they are specifically designed to explore the canal, verify its patency, and create a secure glide path before the actual canal shaping step.
The innovation of Electro-Erosion Machining (EDM)
Like the entire EDMax range — which represents the major technological evolution of the renowned first generation NeoNiTi —, the Glide path files benefit from the exclusive Electro-Erosion (EDM) manufacturing process. Instead of conventional mechanical grinding, Nickel-Titanium is sculpted by thermal subtraction via a conductive wire, eliminating any physical stress on the metal.
This unique production method provides considerable clinical benefits at the chairside:
- Exceptional fracture resistance: The complete absence of grinding eliminates the appearance of structural micro-cracks. The file acquires unparalleled resistance to cyclic fatigue and torsional fracture, even in narrow or heavily calcified canals.
- Abrasive power and debris evacuation: The EDM treatment naturally generates a rough surface on the instrument. In addition to a sharp surgical cutting effect, the file offers superior abrasive action ("Soft Power") which greatly facilitates the upward movement and evacuation of dentinal debris.
- Maximum flexibility and anatomical respect: These instruments offer very high flexibility and a very pleasant plastic deformation capacity in use. The file faithfully follows the original canal anatomy, drastically limiting the risk of transportation or ledge creation.
A fluid and secure protocol
The use of EDMax Glide path instruments integrates perfectly upstream of the shaping sequences. Used in continuous rotation at a speed of 500 rpm with a cutting limit of 1.5 N.cm, they prepare the ground gently, quickly, and reliably.
