Presentation by Dr. Gaelle Chomette

Dr. Gaëlle CHOMETTE is a dental surgeon in Grezieu La Varenne.
She specializes in endodontics.

Presentation of the clinical case

Incidental discovery of external cervical resorption in a healthy 23-year-old man.
On CBCT, resorption extends to the pulp, with a distal entry point and the tooth no longer responds to sensitivity tests.
The decision is made to perform endodontic treatment.

Preoperative radiographic analysis

Post-operative radiographic analysis

Post-operative radiograph after root canal treatment. The shaping was carried out in reciprocity with the Excalibur system (Zarc), and the canals were obturated with a single-cone and bioceramic technique (Neo Sealer Flow (Zarc by Avalon).

The products used for this clinical case

For this case, Dr. Chomette used:

  • Main shaping system: Zarc's Excalibur – ideal for negotiating double bends without fear of fracture, thanks to its reciprocal movement and robustness.

  • Obturation technique: Avalon MTA NeoSealer – a bioceramic cement that flows perfectly into the smallest corners, even when gutta cones cannot cover everything.
