The Dual Rinse is made from HEDP. It is a chelating solution which dissolves in sodium hypochlorite, whatever its concentration.
Thanks to Dual Rinse HEDP, it is finally possible to avoid complicated disinfection protocols. Combined with sodium hypochlorite, Dual Rinse HEDP is the world's first all-in-one root canal irrigation solution. This mixed root canal disinfection solution is used throughout endodontic treatment. No need to alternate rinse products, the use of EDTA is no longer necessary.
Dual Rinse HEDP is a mild chelator that has unique compatibility with sodium hypochlorite and calcium hydroxide, making it distinctly different from EDTA. The continuous bonding of calcium ions prevents the formation of a smear layer during mechanical treatment and debris is permanently removed, no longer requiring subsequent cleaning.
All desired properties of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) are retained. Thanks to its mild chelating properties, Dual Rinse HEP ideally conditions root dentin for root canal filling and thus significantly increases the adhesion capacity of sealants. It is thus possible to reduce the mechanical stress suffered by the rotating instruments.
Important to know, the Dual Rinse has a duration of action limited to
- Two hours if dissolved in 5% hypochlorite
- Five hours if dissolved in 2% hypochlorite
