The Neo MTA is a product that has been marketed for almost 15 years by the American company AVALON.
The inventor (a woman) of the Neo MTA has never stopped wanting to improve and facilitate the handling of his MTA.
The Neo MTA differs from other MTAs in two main ways:
- The incorporation of Tantalum in its composition as a radio opacifier. In equal quantities, tantalum is 20% more radio opaque than zirconium oxide
- The integration of a gel mixture rather than water (enriched with calcium chloride) which gives the mixture a consistency close to that of Cavit or IRM.
The Neo MTA is offered in three versions:
- The Powder + Gel version to mix - we recommend it for filling large cavities in particular (camera pulpotomy for example)
- A ready-to-use Putty version in a 0.5g or 1.2g syringe - we recommend it for pulp capping, apexification, treatment of perforations and of course retro filling in surgery.
- A "flow" version to be injected into the canals - Recommended for canal obturation using the "Monocone" technique
