Technical description of the product
Description
EDTA is a well-known chelating solution in endodontics.
EDTA is used in the final irrigation phase, which begins after shaping is complete.
EDTA is used to dissolve the mineral phase of the smear layer to release bacteria that may have become trapped in debris created by canal instrumentation.
After suctioning the hypochlorite from the canal, the EDTA is injected, without pressure, and then left in place for at least 2 minutes. The solution can be activated with a gutta percha cone pumping or by any other means of activation. We recommend using the Z-Irrigator, for example.
After two minutes, the EDTA is aspirated in turn, then a new rinse with sodium hypochlorite completes the disinfection of the canal.
EDTA is also recommended in revitalization procedures in order to release growth factors embedded in dentin.
The solution is sold in a 200ml bottle supplied with a syringe and a Luer Lock cap which allows the solution to be withdrawn directly from the bottle.
