Pre-widening of a canal is recommended when the diameter is very thin.
After passing a 10/100 diameter file, the Excalibur Glider will widen the diameter of the canal in order to facilitate the passage of the shaping instrument, without risking blocking its tip, and thus limit the risk of fracture due to torsion.
Like all pre-wideners, the Excalibur Glider is only useful in very fine canals. When a 15/100 file can be easily brought to working length, this instrument is of no interest.

The missing link between manual files and Excalibur
For fine, calcified, or severely curved canals, proceeding directly to Excalibur without prior preparation can be risky. The Excalibur Glider precisely fills this transitional role: it pre-enlarges the canal after manual catheterization up to K15, creating a reliable and secure glide path before introducing the shaping file.
Specifically designed for reciprocation The Excalibur Glider has a left-handed helix and must be used exclusively with a reciprocating motion. Its Nickel-Titanium alloy with Gold heat treatment provides superior flexibility and optimal cyclic fatigue resistance, even in the most tortuous canals.
When to use it? It is indicated only for fine canals, after the passage of a manual exploration file. It does not replace the manual glide path but complements it by mechanically preparing the passage for the Excalibur or Excalibur PRO.
