Slimshapers are canal shaping instruments with significant flexibility. Like Blueshapers, Slimshapers have received a heat treatment which gives them flexibility and resistance.
The final shaping has a diameter of 25/100 and a taper of 4% with the ZS3.
The system combines three different heat treatments depending on the position in the instrument in the operating sequence.
The ZS1 which is used for initial shaping requires more cutting efficiency than the following ones. It is therefore in Gold
The ZS2 which intervenes in a channel already partially prepared, requires more flexibility but also to maintain efficiency to prepare the passage of the next one. It is therefore in “Pink”
The ZS3, meanwhile, is the last instrument in the sequence and flexibility is favored over cutting efficiency. It is therefore made of “Blue” alloy.
The instruments must therefore be passed one after the other, always reaching the working length before moving on to the next in the sequence.

The Slim Shaper is the first rotary system to combine three distinct heat treatments on three different instruments, each optimized for its precise role in the sequence. It is particularly recommended for fine, curved, or calcified canals, and is part of a philosophy of conservative dentin treatment.
A sequence of 3 instruments, each in its place
- ZS1 – Gold: The first instrument in the sequence, it requires maximum cutting efficiency to initiate shaping. The Gold alloy provides resistance and precision.
- ZS2 – Pink: Used in a canal that is already partially prepared. It combines flexibility and cutting efficiency to prepare the way for the ZS3.
- ZS3 – Blue: The last instrument in the sequence, flexibility is paramount. The Blue alloy offers maximum flexibility to follow the canal anatomy to the working length.
Final result: diameter 25/100, 4% taper with ZS3.
Usage protocol The three instruments are taken to the working length one after the other, in the order ZS1 → ZS2 → ZS3. The mandrels are conductive: compatible with a motor coupled to an apex locator.
⚠️ The resulting shape is less tapered than that of BlueShaper. It is strongly recommended to use paper points and gutta-percha cones dedicated to the SlimShaper system. Failing that, use 4% taper cones.
