Product information
By Stéphane Simon
The material is intended for the following uses:
Retro obturation in surgery
Sealing floor or side perforations
Apexification treatment
Pulp capping and cameral pulpotomy
Radiopacity is obtained by adding Tantalum and not Zirconium Oxide. The very high radiopacity of Tantalum allows for very good radiopacity while retaining a maximum of active product (47% active product, 44% tantalum and 9% stabilizers) which makes it one of the most concentrated products in active product available on the market.
Technical description of the product
Description
The reference MTA — 20 years of clinical experience, custom preparation
Neo MTA2 is a bioceramic repair cement based on MTA (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate), marketed for over 20 years by the American company Avalon Biomed and distributed in France by ZARC since 2022. It comes in powder and mixing gel form — unlike Neo Sealer Putty (ready-to-use) and Neo Sealer FLO (injectable into canals), Neo MTA2 is mixed before use, allowing its consistency to be freely adapted according to clinical indication.
Not to be confused with other products in the range The Avalon by ZARC range includes three distinct products with different indications:
- Neo MTA2 (this product): powder + mixing gel, variable consistency, ideal for large cavities and coronal pulpotomy
- Neo Sealer Putty: ready-to-use paste in a syringe, for capping, apexification, perforation, retrograde filling
- Neo Sealer FLO: fluid injectable into canals, for single-cone obturation technique
An innovative mixing gel — no water Neo MTA2 differs from classic MTAs by using a calcium chloride-enriched gel rather than water as the mixing liquid. This gel gives the mixture a consistency similar to Cavit or IRM — easy to handle, not very sticky, with controlled working time.
47% active ingredient — the most concentrated on the market Like the entire Avalon range, radiopacity is achieved by adding Tantalum (20% more radiopaque than Zirconium Oxide in equal quantities), allowing maximization of the active ingredient concentration: 47% active ingredient, 44% Tantalum, and 9% stabilizers.
Indications
- Coronal pulpotomy
- Direct and indirect pulp capping
- Apexification
- Retrograde filling in surgery
- Sealing of floor or wall perforations
