The Z-Activator is one of the so-called Ultra Sonic activators.
Passive Ultrasound Activation (PUI) produces a cavitation effect within the canal during the final irrigation phase. This activation allows:
- To eliminate canal debris stuck to the dentinal walls
- To eliminate residues of filling materials in cases of reprocessing
- To participate in the disintegration of the biofilm
- To clean isthmuses and other anomalies of endodontic anatomy
- To facilitate the detachment of the dentinal smear on the canal walls.
Ultrasonic activation is an excellent complement to the effects of irrigation solutions, whether disinfectant or chelating. It is particularly recommended with the use of Dual Rinse.

Passive ultrasonic activation for canal disinfection
Passive Ultrasonic Activation (PUI) is an essential complement to endodontic irrigation. The Z-Activator produces a cavitation effect within the canal during the final irrigation phase, generating millions of gas bubbles that form, oscillate, and burst, creating turbulence that accelerates fluid movement and optimizes its penetration into all canal irregularities.

3 types of tips for 3 distinct uses
- Silver tips: the most rigid — for jobs requiring more power
- Blue tips: intermediate resistance — ideal for activating the irrigation solution and removing residues from canal walls
- Gold tips: the most flexible — for gentle and atraumatic activation
Box contents The Z-Activator comes with one of each of the 5 tips and a tightening wrench. Tips and wrench are also available for individual purchase as refills.
Maintenance The handpiece can be disinfected with surface disinfection products – it cannot be autoclaved. The inserts are sterilizable at 134°C in an autoclave.
