Product information

By Stéphane Simon

These manual crushers are both light and ergonomic.
For obturation with the so-called Schilder technique, the pluggers allow the gutta to be compacted once it has been warmed with a Heat Cariier. The plugger is selected according to the diameter of the portion of the canal concerned.
As the technique progresses, a rammer of decreasing diameter is chosen in order to gradually lower the cork in the apical direction.
These rammers can also be used in addition to heated rammers. In this case, the rammers are used to compact the gutta that remains stuck to the walls in the bottom of the canal.

They are also used or to make the final plug of the obturation with bioceramics.

Technical description of the product

Description

Precise Warm Vertical Compaction

The warm vertical compaction technique — or Schilder technique — relies on alternating between a heat source (Heat Carrier or heated plugger) and a hand plugger to progressively compact the gutta-percha in an apical direction. ZARC Z-Pluggers were designed for this precise role: lightweight, ergonomic, and thin enough to reach the apical portion of the canal without forcing.

Two Complementary Uses

  • Schilder technique: after heating the gutta-percha with a Heat Carrier, the Z-Plugger is used to compact the material in an apical direction. As needed, a plugger of decreasing diameter is chosen to gradually advance the gutta-percha.
  • Complementary to Z-Down heated pluggers: once the apical plug is created, the Z-Plugger allows for compaction of gutta-percha that remains stuck to the walls at the bottom of the canal, where the heated plugger can no longer reach.

Also useful for bioceramic obturations The Z-Plugger can be used to create the final obturation plug during a single-cone technique with bioceramic, by compacting the cone at the canal entrance.

Double-ended design Each instrument features a metal handle and two ends of different diameters, offering two compaction sizes on a single instrument.
