The Z Up and Z Down combo combines the two handpieces that allow you to perform the hot gutta technique at a reasonable price.
The Z Down is used to perform the downward phase of the obturation. The heated plugger is used to compact the gutta percha in the apical direction in order to create the "apical plug". It can also be used as a Heat Carrier and associated with the use of manual pluggers.
The Z UP is used as a second intention to fill the rest of the canal by injection of warmed gutta percha. The flexible heated needles adapt very easily to the canal anatomy. The gutta comes in the form of sticks and not in a cartridge.

The second step of warm gutta obturation
Warm gutta obturation remains the gold standard technique in endodontics. It is performed in two stages. After the "downpack" phase, which creates a 4 to 5 mm apical gutta-percha plug (performed with the Z-Down), the Z-Up is used in the second stage to fill the rest of the canal by injecting thermoplastic gutta-percha.
A cordless and autonomous handpiece The Z-Up is a completely cordless and autonomous handpiece. It recharges between uses and requires no cables during treatment — optimal operating comfort for the practitioner.
Flexible and adaptable copper needles The Z-Up's heated copper needles are very flexible and naturally adapt to the shape and curvature of the canal. They allow the gutta to be maintained at the correct temperature during injection — heated to 180°C — to ensure fluid gutta until placement.
Gutta in sticks — not cartridges The gutta comes in stick form to be inserted into the heating chamber, not in cartridges. The Alpha-phase gutta-percha sticks (available separately) allow for very fluid extrusion for homogeneous, bubble-free obturation.
